Belvedere Annex Fire Burned Office Suspected Start
Belvedere volunteers battled a morning fire at the Belvedere Annex of the Belvedere School. The blaze started in the main office around 4 30 a m and burned out by the time two engines arrived two hours later. Investigators termed the fire suspicious and are probing the cause. Students were moved to the main campus as the annex sustained heavy damage to the office area and some classroom space.

Wreck Kills Passenger. Deputies Injured in U.S. 1 Crash
Aiken County coroner reports Roy Allen Fannon age 28 of Clearwater died at the scene when his brother in law Bruce Wayne Wilson's car collided with an Aiken County Sheriff’s Department patrol car. Deputies Dennis Rushton and Jeff Reece Turner were injured. Wilson had a small laceration. The patrol car flipped after the impact and the driver of the other vehicle was charged.
