Foreign Minister Yigal Allon flies to Washington to press the United States to veto any Security Council move to seize control of Arab-Israeli peace negotiations.
Britain and France defend Concorde benefits outweigh environmental harm as Air France and British Airways seek U S approval for supersonic passenger service. Secretary Coleman to rule within 30 days on flights between Europe and New York City and Washington.
Two Filipinos seized a Japanese jetliner at Manila airport to gain passage out of the country. After nearly six hours they freed most of the 219 passengers and crew but kept two male passengers and eight crew members. Government officials said amnesty for the hijackers was offered in exchange for hostages, denying a report that they had surrendered to Imelda Marcos.
Rose Kennedy, 85, fears political pressure could push her surviving son Edward Kennedy into a presidential run. Senator Kennedy says the fears are groundless and vows to stay out of the 1976 race, while Mrs. Kennedy notes possible considerations could change his mind and she would support him if needed.
The Army says the Safeguard antimissile system would be technically effective against Soviet warheads if not for limits of the U S S R arms treaty. It rejects claims that MIRVs erode its value and challenges House Appropriations Committee views that Soviet multi warhead missiles will nullify its future utility against Minuteman ICBMs.

The 1975 audit of the Aiken County Clerk of Court's Office cited unrecorded revenues and mixed funds under former Clerk Cleo Scott. It urged deposits be kept intact with receipts, and recommended discontinuing charge accounts now used by Sue Roe. The special audit remains pending as auditors and officials implement changes.
President Ford called for an immediate cease fire in Angola and an end to outside intervention. He urged a government of national unity to end the civil war and warned the Soviet Union that continued involvement would damage broader relations. He pledged continued U S efforts to stabilize the military situation and promote a quick peaceful settlement.
Aiken City Police investigate a weekend break in at Aiken Senior High School yielding about 1000 dollars of gym and office equipment. The loss includes an office lounge chair helmets and footballs entered through an open gym window. Eddie L. Buck athletic director and football coach reported the theft.
The Aiken County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing at 7 p.m. in Room 107 USC Aiken before final reading of an ordinance to close the county hospital as the opening of the Aiken Community Hospital is planned. The final act follows a two hour closed session in December.
The B 52 crash near Montmorenci on Sept 3 killed three crewmen. The pilot Capt James A Perry ordered no bail out and the fuel leak in the right wing tank may have contributed. The Air Force report lists crew eject order and notes no alarm prior to bail.
