The city of Aiken sees building permits reach near one million dollars for the year with outside city limits activity boosting total. Large entries include winter homes two commercial hotels and several business buildings, reflecting a significant rise over prior years.
Miss Margaret Shuler, a young woman of charm and a bright personality who attended Converse Dates and Greenville Woman's College, died suddenly Monday after health had been described as poor. Survived by parents, two sisters Mrs. P. O. McLain and Mrs. J. D. Edens of Columbia, and two brothers Wilbur E. Shuler of Aiken and Haskell Shuler of Tampa, funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the First Baptist Church with Rev. PL d McLean officiating and Bethany cemetery burial. Pallbearers included Alderman Duncan, Kenneth Kerr, Utuwh Wsman, Herbert E. Gyles, Mrs. Jency Summerall and Charles Hill.
Mrs Magdalen Tobteten Parker wife of WA Parker of Graniteville died at her home early Sunday morning after several weeks illness. Surviving: husband, one son Peter Parker a USC student, mother ALP Tehnstons two sisters Woodoo fotuscem. Funeral services at Graniteville Church. local pallbearers named.
