Redcliffe Plantation hosts New Year hike in Beech Island
Beech Island's Redcliffe Plantation offered a quiet New Year's Day hike under hazy skies and breezy 68 degree weather. The historic site, once home to James Henry Hammond and enslaved people, saw sparse crowds as pandemic measures and masking influenced participation. Organizers from America's State Parks promote hikes as a way to enjoy nature and start the year outdoors. SouthCarolinaParks.com provides details on Redcliffe and other sites.
