SMU Gives Small Keyboards A Big Role In Music Program
SMU has retrofitted eight pianos with ergonomically scaled keyboards to aid students with small hand spans like Bliana Yi. The initiative, led by Carol Leone, began 17 years ago and helps pianists perform repertoire once out of reach, expanding opportunities at SMU and influencing other schools and gatherings such as the Dallas International Piano Competition.
