Five dead on state roadways in South Carolina crash toll
Five people died on South Carolina roadways during the holiday weekend. McCormick County residents Timothy Crawford and Betty Blair perished when the car collided with a cement truck on state Highway 28 near Plum Branch. Also killed were Tony Laney of Lancaster who ran off a road into a ditch, Darrell Legette who crashed into a tree after speeding on a secondary road near Latta, and Cameron Newton of Marbury Maryland who died when his car ran off I 95 near mile 15. The Associated Press cites police reports from 6 pm Friday to midnight Monday.
