Knights of Columbus Donate to Special Needs Groups in Aiken
The Aiken Knights of Columbus contributed over $16,000 through a Tootsie Roll drive golf outing and pancake breakfast. Funds support Tri Development Area 15 Special Olympics and Very Special Arts programs aiding 500 children and local adults with disabilities.

About 100 USC Aiken students and community members attended in Brown Pavilion at the Aiken Center for the Arts to hear Mike Dockins read his poetry and sign copies of Slouching in the Path of a Comet. Dockins was brought by the Guild of Poetic Intent with faculty adviser Roy Seeger.

Ridge Spring Monetta High teacher chosen for Project of the Month
Public Education Partners selects a Ridge Spring Monetta High School teacher as a prospective Project of the Month. The program, led by Abney, uses three dimensional objects to teach why structures hold or collapse and to connect geometry to real world engineering. About 100 ninth to eleventh graders will participate with a startup cost near 950 dollars. Donations are invited via the Donate Now link and mail to P O Box 3821 Aiken SC 29802.

IHOP drives National Pancake Day fund drive for CMNN
IHOP restaurants in Aiken Augusta and Evans invite patrons to donate the price of a short stack four dollars fifty nine cents or more on National Pancake Day to the Children's Miracle Network Hospital. CMHN balloons sell for one and five dollars with proceeds supporting the MCG Health Children's Medical Center and its critical care units.
