Koalas of Australia A Cupbearer of the Eucalypt
The koala is a nocturnal arboreal marsupial native to Australia that feeds on eucalyptus leaves and derives all water from them. The species, once near extinction, is now protected by the Australian government. A mother koala carries her joey in a pouch for six months and then on her back for another six months.
