Controlling Aquatic Weeds in Aiken County Ponds
Spring brings renewed aquatic weed growth in Aiken County ponds. Prevention through proper pond construction and fertilization is key. Water drawdowns offer a cheap control, exposing weeds to freezing conditions and concentrating forage fish. Triploid grass carp are a promising legal option in SC. If needed, use herbicides only with extension office guidance and full label compliance.
