Lab dog earns Dickin Medal for bomb detection in Afghanistan
Eight year old British Labrador Tree was decorated at the Imperial War Museum for helping uncover Taliban bombs in Helmand Province in 2008. Handler Sgt Dave Heyhoe said the award honors every dog and handler in Afghanistan or Iraq. The Dickin Medal, since 1943, has honored 63 animals including dogs, pigeons, and horses.
