Public comment ends on 1200 layoffs at Savannah River Site
The public comment period for 1,200 anticipated layoffs at the Savannah River Site closes today with online submissions at wwwssrs.gov. Those opting for voluntary departure have until March 4 to file, potentially receiving severance up to 26 weeks and one year of continued insurance, subject to approval. The self select process may bar departures for workers with critical skills, WSRC says, with 60 day layoff notices following. The DOE approved documents include a notice letter confirming layoffs.
