The Aiken County Public Library hosts a free concert and lecture by guitarist Peter Hetcher at 3 p.m. today with works by Federico Mompou. Other events include Ed McMullen speaking at a noon luncheon for the Republican Club at Newberry Hall, and multiple community trainings, meetings, and workshops across local venues and organizations through the week.
The South Boundary Mardi Gras Group held a private party Saturday at the Aiken Municipal Center. Members displayed horse themed art including a Picasso style portrait and a green-eyed smoke-breathing wicker horse. The group formed in the 1970s and meets every two years to socialize and lift winter blues. Contact John Moore.
Richard Fletcher, partner at Cheatham, Fletcher, and Scott, named town architect for Hammond's Ferry in North Augusta. The project involves City of North Augusta Civitas LLC and Leyland Alliance. Fletcher will shape the neighborhood’s architectural vision and coordinate home approvals.
