Ten year old Ryan Lanagan from Massachusetts got separated from his father on a ski weekend at Waterville Valley New Hampshire. He spent about 15 hours in 15 degree weather partially burying himself in chest high snow and sleeping while awaiting rescue. His 14 year old brother TJ had taught him survival tips including using snow for insulation and digging in to wait for help. A helicopter spotted him and Fish and Game officer Todd Borgardis helped guide him down. He avoided hospital treatment and planned to ski again.
