Aiken firefighter dies in Graniteville crash
Aiken County firefighter Phillip E. Turner, 59, of Graniteville, died at the scene after a two vehicle collision near Bettis Academy Road and I-20 at 7:30 a.m. Turner failed to wear a seat belt while attempting to pass two vehicles. The driver of the second vehicle was identified as Figueroa A. Cuellar of Miami Springs, Florida. No others were injured. Investigators from the South Carolina Highway Patrol and the coroner’s office are probing.
