Survivor Joe Thompson Recovers After AED CPR Save
Joe Thompson, owner of Thompson Lawn and Sprinkler and Evans Fitness member, collapsed on a treadmill and stopped breathing. Evans staff member Zoe Snook, CPR certified, began chest compressions while David Barrett and Austin Smith applied the AED, delivering two shocks before Thompson resumed breathing. Emergency teams found he needed five heart bypasses but he survived and recovered quickly, crediting proper training and AED use. He resumes running, grateful to the Evans Fitness team, and marks February as heart month with his wife and two children.
