An elderly woman in Aiken fell for a Publisher’s Clearing House hoax asking her to buy two Green Dot cards for a $1.5 million prize and a new car. In a separate case Damon Niles Hancock, 43, was detained for unlawful use of a telephone after multiple threats to a utility call center over power restoration.

A 16 year old boy was detained for third degree assault after allegedly slapping a 14 year old female classmate during lunch. A 24 year old man was detained for shoplifting jeans socks and steaks. Multiple burglaries and vehicle break ins were reported across Aiken County including Silver Bluff Road Morton Avenue and Carver Terrace with items such as televisions electronics tablets shoes wallets jewelry and a generator stolen. Authorities also reported stolen car stereo equipment mail jewelry and various items from residences and vehicles across several streets and towns including Beech Island North Augusta and Williston.
