Noted Cantonian Gibbs Herbruck dies after long illness
Gibbs Herbruck died February 15 2008 after a 12 month cancer battle. He leaves wife Dorothy Compton Marks Herbruck and five adopted children. A Canton native educated at Lehman High School and Princeton, he served in the field artillery ROTC and in the Philippines. He practiced law in Canton for 30 years and held multiple civic roles including Stark County Bar Association president and Canton Art Institute president. Interment is private at Shellhouse Funeral Home in Aiken South Carolina. Contributions may be made to All Saints Anglican Church Hitchcock Woods Foundation or the Aiken SPCA.
