Lynn Thompson received the North Augusta Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year award at the annual meeting at the Community Center. The OTPA leader, known for Living History Park on West Spring Grove Avenue, was praised for two decades of volunteer leadership, funding efforts, and transforming a former waterworks site into a year round history venue.

CSRA Young Marines program builds discipline and leadership
The CSRA Young Marines invite youths to join a nine week recruit training with activities in physical fitness drills map reading and first aid. Commanding Officer Michael Yonn highlights character building teamwork and self confidence while Acey a seven year veteran praises social skills and leadership gains. Recruit training begins March 12 at the Marine Corps Reserve Center in Augusta with parent meetings February 26 and March 5. Milestone in returning SRR waste tank to use
Savannah River Remediation reached a major milestone toward putting Tank 48 back in service at the Savannah River Site. The Tank 48 Treatment Integrated Project Team won DOE approval to purchase long lead time materials for two major process vessels, Hastelloy and Inconel components, to treat radioactive and organic waste.
