Landfill capacity to grow as recycling cuts waste
Three Rivers Solid Waste Authority expects landfill waste to rise over 10 percent to about 230000 tons this year from 207000, aided by recycling and lower generation. New cells open by summer 2001, plus a fund per ton to develop waste-reduction tech, with broader county programs and plans to inject liquids and oxygen to speed biodegradation.
