DOE executive cites safety rules behind delays at Savannah River Site
DOE official Terry Frizzell testified in a False Claims Act case that evolving safety requirements from the Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board, not a conspiracy, caused delays and higher costs in developing a training program at the Savannah River Site. He noted no preexisting knowledge of the In Tank Precipitation facility and urged beginning training early, while Westinghouse described its subcontractor relations.
