At Valley View Elementary in Roswell New Mexico Principal Ed Elliott did a hula in a grass skirt and fourth grade teacher Danny Baker kissed a pig as rewards for students who sold magazines and other items to raise funds for the PTA. Top seller Michael Holstran aged 11 sold 13 subscriptions and got to pie Will Cavin the PE teacher. The PTA raised about 1200 dollars for playground equipment.

Suspected Thief Leaves Baby Behind in Belk Store
In Chapel Hill, a woman accused of shoplifting fled Belk Leggett with purses, leaving her four month old son in a stroller. Police traced her to UNC Hospitals using a hospital bracelet. Karen Council, 29, of Thomasville, was charged with larceny and the child given to his grandfather.
