An Aiken County man Heyward degree Martin III faces trial Wednesday on charges of inflicting great bodily injury on a child in 2014. Prosecutors say the child was found unconscious, soaking wet and wrapped in a towel at a relative’s home after a seizure-like episode. The case includes police reports of nap texts and a claim that bruises were from trying to resuscitate the child. Martin posted bond in 2016 and pleads not guilty. The trial starts at 9:30 a.m.
