Judge Shuttles Between Courts Over Family Case
The judge has bounced between federal and state courts for weeks over a dispute involving Lops accused by his estranged wife of removing the child from Germany against a German court. Lops contends the children are American citizens and not bound by a foreign court. Ryberg criticized an Aiken judge’s involvement, Harte objected to out of state newspaper coverage, and Smith seeks protective orders to quash a deposition and subpoenas. Nuessle may be questioned about Ryberg’s obligation to provide Harte with information in this ongoing matter. Dear Abby appears daily in the Aiken Standard.
