Thurmond expected to be released today
Sen Strom Thurmond 94 year old Republican slated for another doctors check this morning. Officials say no word of a delay and he is expected to open the Senate at noon. Thurmond was admitted to Walter Reed on January 30 for a bad spell and lives alone in Aiken. The board of education meets Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the new district office near the Aiken Mall to review finances and vote on several items.
