Cockfight Raid Nets 64 People Arrested in SC County

MONETTA Sixty four people were arrested in a raid on a cockfight conducted by the Aiken County Sheriff's Department and SLED agents at a Jones Crossroads property. All pleaded guilty and were fined. Participants came from five states including South Carolina and Georgia.

School Board Plans Legislative Program and Policy Reviews

The Aiken County Board of Education will discuss its 1982 legislative program at 7:30 p.m. in the Education Center and present it to the Aiken County legislative delegation on Feb. 10 with a March 2 response deadline. The six month financial report shows 39.26 percent of the budget received and 39.86 spent. a stadium maintenance policy will be introduced. USC Aiken seniors and South Carolina State College interns may practice teach next spring. a 24 hour practicum for USCA education students is considered. Happy Days Camp is endorsed to use district facilities with utility costs.
