18 Year Old Rights Bill Passes South Carolina House
The South Carolina House approved by 108 to 9 a measure lowering the age of responsibility from 21 to 18. Rep. Carroll Campbell argued 18-year-olds deserve full rights and responsibilities while opponents warned of remaining maturity gaps. The bill now heads to the Senate Judiciary Committee for consideration after a final reading.

Milk Price Hike Hearing Set by State Dairy Board
The State Dairy Commission will hold a Thursday hearing on a second proposed milk price hike in two months. Farmers seek a 3 to 4 cent per quart rise amid high feed costs, after a December increase to 32 cents. Columbia attorney Thomas Broadwater opposes the last rise and will oppose this one. The panel sets minimum farm, processor, and retail prices.
