Aiken Public Safety Reports Shoplifting Burglary and Thefts
Aiken DPS reports a 28 year old man detained for shoplifting on Whiskey Road and an unknown man stealing $200 in merchandise from a convenience store on Whiskey Road. Burglaries were reported on Charleston Street Oakwood Drive Joes Park Road Diamond Drive Old Camp Long Road and other areas. Vehicle thefts and break ins occurred on Richland Avenue Amos Court and Williston Road with several targets including a television video game console tablet ammo and papers missing. A resident reported a neighbor filming his family via a bathroom window on Wednesday.

Aiken Man Detained on Gun Charges After Bicycle Incident
Antwan Demetrius Walker, 19, of Cherokee Drive, was charged with unlawful carrying of a pistol and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon after allegedly tossing a gun aside near a police car on Horry Street at 10 20 p.m. Public Safety reported. Walker’s record showed he was prohibited from handgun ownership.
