Edgefield man found dead on Murray Road

The body of 33 year old John Henry Scurry was found at 215 Murray Road in Edgefield County. Coroner Thurmond Burnett said initial findings cite blows from an axe. An individual was in custody and questioned at the Edgefield County jail, with no charges yet filed and no names released.

Water levels in South Carolina return to normal after heavy rains

Above average rainfall across South Carolina over the past two months has raised surface and groundwater to normal levels after last summer's drought. Officials say streams and lakes statewide are approaching or exceeding normal levels with reservoir levels in the comfort zone.
