Burglary Suspects Detained After Home Break-In in Aiken
Police detained two suspects on burglary charges after a home on Abbeville Avenue was broken into around 11:30 am. The homeowner Maria Saxon reported two suspects fleeing from a bedroom. both were arrested with one charged in Aiken County Detention Center. A juvenile suspect was also detained and sent to the Department of Juvenile Justice in Columbia. No items were reported missing. Separately, a $400 Michael Kors purse was stolen from Dillard's in Aiken Mall by a white male 50 to 69, 5'10, 310 pounds, wearing a USC sweatshirt. surveillance was obtained.

An 18-year-old Aiken man, Michael Donavan Mitchell of Harbor Drive, was charged with criminal domestic violence and failure to comply after allegedly punching the mother of his child in the mouth during a dispute on Abbeville Avenue. He remained in custody as police investigated.
