Beecham Products suffered computer vandalism when two youths hacked in by telephone starting January 9 and burned out several Beecham motors by cycling the lights. Sheriff Carrol Heath said Apple II equipment was used. Beecham agreed to absorb the loss and issued a reprimand.
A spokesman for South Carolina Electric and Gas reported freezing rain iced tree limbs that pulled down primary power lines causing brief outages in Crosland Park Brandy Road and Boardman Road. Power was restored by 2:00 p.m. and the weather turns partly cloudy and colder tomorrow with highs near 50.
At the Aiken County Council meeting last night solicitor Bob Harte walked in with his tall assistant Bill Weeks. Council Chairman Carroll H. Warner questioned if Weeks was Harte's bodyguard as they approached councilmembers.

Brent Zachow 16 will face General Sessions Court after a jeep crash in North Augusta killed two high school students Johnny Williams Jr. 16 and Branwen Bryan 15. The accident left Williams brain dead nine days later and Bryan dead at the scene.
