ARMC adopts BrainLab to boost neurosurgery precision
ARMC from Aiken Regional Medical Centers implements BrainLab Vector Vision Flex navigation for 3-D imaging from preoperative MRI and CT scans. Dr. James Dillon says the system guides outside head coordinates to target abnormalities, reducing brain exposure and operative risk in intracranial procedures. It is used mainly for biopsies and intracranial surgeries three to five times monthly, with potential broader uses. The facility is the CSRA’s only site using this platform.
