A theft of an air conditioner on Fairfield Street was reported. DUI arrests followed erratic driving on Whiskey Road Silver Bluff Road Ligon Avenue and Richland Avenue with breath or blood alcohol readings from .22 to .23 percent. Beech Island Man Detained After Disturbance and Arrest
Daniel Smith a 33 year old from Swamp Road Beech Island was detained on disorderly conduct and damage to county property after a disturbance at a Swamp Road home. He resisted arrest, elbowed a deputy, head butted a patrol car window, and required transfer to a barred vehicle. One deputy was hospitalized briefly for heat and breathing issues.
