Itemized appropriations fight in South Carolina Legislature

In a tense session the South Carolina House battles over an itemized bill for state university salaries including the president’s pay. A push to require itemized appropriations clashes with a lump-sum approach, touching on the president’s $7,500 to $10,000 salary and a possible increase to $10,000. The debate spans committee moves, gubernatorial references, and the Ways and Means stance, with broader tax solution discussions and unresolved funding for state operations.
