Mead Hall students plan the 7th Jump Rope and Hoops for Heart on February 2 3 and 5 to raise funds for the American Heart Association. Activities include jump rope and basketball shots for grades 1 4 and older students. Dreamin bout WWII brings 1940s to Hammond Hill students
Fifth grade SOAR classes at Hammond Hill Elementary staged Dreamin bout WWII reenacting the home front and war era. Students portrayed Roosevelt Tuskegee Airmen Navajo code talkers Eisenhower and Patton and showed internment and Jewish persecution with scenes and songs from the era. The program, guided by Donna Sherman and Donna Mosley, used a $10,000 grant to build World War II trunks and educate through performance.
