Matthews nears final day at First Baptist North Augusta
The Rev. Jerry Matthews prepares to retire as minister of senior adults after 35 years with First Baptist Church of North Augusta. He began as minister of music and led the senior high choir from the 1970s to the 1990s while touring 218 churches in 31 states and Canada. Matthews and his wife Carroll care for a son with cerebral palsy, and he plans more family time and travel after retirement.
