Firefighter dies after Aiken County blaze in 1998 recall
Aiken County remembers a Dec blaze that killed 57-year-old firefighter Clovis Talton from a heart attack after his shift. Carlisle plant manager Jack Sayre praised crews and donated 50,000 to offset costs as arson probes begin. Two minor fires followed the main blaze, suspect Danny Fields charged with second degree arson. Mace, a petty criminal, captured after a long chase and later jailed.
