Lessons from 2013 Buy and hold works and 2014 outlook
The 2013 market rewarded buy and hold as Vanguard drew $130 billion in inflows and major indices posted strong gains. Despite gains, retirement savings remain insufficient for many Americans as IRA and 401(k) balances show modest highs. Look ahead to 2014 with caution on downturns but opportunity in ETFs, per Jeff Reeves and Greg Roberts.
