Rev Paul Bush Named Aiken Standard Person Of The Year
Rev Paul Bush the president of the Concerned Ministers Fellowship was named the Aiken Standard 2016 Person of the Year. Aiken DPS Chief Charles Barranco called him very honorable and praised his community leadership and efforts to prevent violence through open dialogue. Bush helped form a Citizens Review Board for Public Safety and pushed for cultural sensitivity training and greater diversity in hiring.

Aiken officials list the five most dangerous intersections based on 2016 collision counts. Whiskey Road at Pine Log Road led with 49 crashes, followed by East Gate Drive at Whiskey Road, Parkway, Silver Bluff Road at Pine Log Road, and Whiskey Road at Dougherty Road with 22, 22, 18, and 17 crashes respectively. Police say these locations have long dominated the danger list.
