Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, who fled the United States for India in November, is planning to move on to South America. The Portland Oregonian reports he is considering proposals from two South American countries willing to take him and his followers.
The New York Times reports that Thomas Bilotti, newly named underboss and likely successor to Paul Castellano, may have been the main target in the mob killings, with Bilotti and Castellano murdered amid a Gambino family power struggle in New York.
Joseph D. Oriolo, prolific cartoonist and director of more than 1000 features, died at 72 after a brief illness in Hackensack New Jersey. He lived in Woodcliff Lake and built a 53 year career in cartoons and comics, directing 254 Felix the Cat episodes and voicing roles in Gulliver's Travels. He also created Mighty Hercules the first action cartoon modeled on real people.
