Alton “Al” Collie 95 of Aiken SC died December 22 2020. He served in the US Army in World War II and retired from DuPont Savannah River Plant. A devoted husband father and grandfather he coached basketball softball and baseball and was active at Millbrook Baptist Church. He was known as Coach Collie and enjoyed Edisto Beach and ping pong. He leaves Naomi his wife of 71 years and nine other family members. A private graveside service was planned December 26 2020 at Aiken Memorial Gardens. Memorials may go to Millbrook Baptist Church Building Fund. Shellhouse Rivers Funeral Home directed arrangements.

Born November 22, 1938 in Ben Hill County, Georgia, she was a former Proctor and Gamble data specialist and a member of Christ's Way Christian Church in Aiken. Survived by two sons, five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and extended family. Memorial service set for December 26 at 11:00 a.m. at Shellhouse Rivers Funeral Home Pine Log Road, Aiken.

A grey stray cat found near Twin View Court and Teak Run in Graniteville tested positive for rabies by DHEC. The animal, the sixth in Aiken County in 2020, was submitted December 2 and confirmed December 22. Do not touch wild animals and contact authorities if exposure occurs.
