49-year-old student earns nursing associate degree at USC Aiken
Scott Ramey, a Martinez resident and former factory worker, graduated as part of nearly 190 seniors at USC Aiken's last ADN class, bonding with younger classmates while preparing to pursue a bachelor’s degree. He served in the Army, worked as a police officer and chemical operator, and credits his late mother and supportive faculty for his perseverance. Let's Talk book discussion series at Aiken Library
The Aiken County Public Library launches a free six week reading and discussion series led by USC Aiken instructors. The program loans 25 copies of each book from the South Carolina State Library and takes registrations for temporary reading groups. Attempted drug purchase and police blotter notes in Aiken
A woman claimed work at a local doctor’s office and sought Vicodin during an attempted illegal drug purchase Thursday in Aiken. Three youths fled a restaurant without paying. an employee retrieved the crumpled bill outside. A 19-year-old was charged while two juveniles were booked and released. An officer later observed a man matching a North Augusta shooting suspect’s description and provided a vehicle description and license tag.
