Fund-raiser Aimed for White House Talk With Taiwan Buddhist Leader
A Democratic fund raiser reminded Gore's office of past meetings with a Taiwanese Buddhist sect leader and followers as it sought a March 15 White House meeting with Venerable Master Ising Yun. The note cites Gore's 1989 Taiwan and 1993 1995 Los Angeles encounters. White House counsel confirmed the meeting occurred.
