The South Aiken High School All Sports Athletic Booster Club will hold an auction on Saturday Jan 19 at the Conference Center in The Alley. Texas Rangers struck a $65 million five year contract with Chan Ho Park, the top free agent pitcher. Park, a 27 year old right hander, posted a 15-11 record with a 3.50 ERA for the Dodgers last season. Texas seeks improvement after posting a 5.71 team ERA and finishing last in the AL West.
First year Columbia Inferno defeated the Augusta Lynx 5 to 2 at the Carolina Coliseum in ECHL action. Patrick Yetman and Guy Larose scored, with Scott Morrow Martin LaPointe and Willis Tyler earning assists. Augusta hosts Macon Whoopee at 4:05 p.m.
