Fire lights tree in John C. Calhoun Park during holiday display
A 15 foot Christmas tree in John C Calhoun Park near North Augusta caught fire when wiring shorted during the lights display. A passerby reported the blaze as North Augusta Public Safety firefighter Randy Spratley said crews responded to extinguish the fire. Meanwhile a Windsor area crash left Hilda man Bobby Eidson charged with failure to appear and pay as ordered. Jason faces no crash-related changes, officials said. Eidson was sent to the Aiken County detention center.
