Mandela Wife Forced From Soweto Home By Police

Winnie Mandela, wife of Nelson Mandela, was dragged from her Soweto house by about 20 police after refusing to leave. Witnesses said a pistol was pointed at her neck as she was forced into a police car, while armored vans surrounded the area. Police said she was removed and is not in custody, with a later report placing her at a hotel near the airport. Her banning order remains in effect restricting her from the Johannesburg area.
