Savannah River Site workers topped 20000 toys in a long running drive partnering with Toys for Tots and the Salvation Army Angel Tree. About 840 area children were adopted with more than 6000 toys and clothing items donated to Angel Tree recipients. Marines distributed gifts across Aiken Allendale Barnwell Edgefield and other counties, with support from Augusta Marines and SAS staff.
The Free Riders Motorcycle Club and partners deliver toys to 100 plus area children at the Smith-Hazel Recreation Center in Aiken. Gifts include two chosen toys per child, meals, and a Santa visit, aided by Atomic Dogs Motorcycle Club and others. The event also funds three $500 scholarships and ongoing Back-to-School drives. Carol Scurry coordinates donations and outreach.
