Kimberly-Clark To Build Saw Mill In Georgia

Kimberly-Clark announces a 4.5 million saw mill and planing mill at Waynesboro Georgia to begin mid 1974. the plant will produce softwood for construction hardwood for furniture and employ about 100 workers with 125 logging jobs. the site spans 140 acres near 131000 acres of timberland and links to beech island south carolina operations.

Whiskey Tested After Two Die At Nightspot

Authorities in Kershaw ordered autopsies and whiskey tests after two men died and a third fell gravely ill at a local nightspot. Police were called around midnight Tuesday for a disturbance. two men were jailed, one died an hour later, another remains in serious condition, and a third man died en route to a doctor. Sheriff said liquor was seized as the scene is analyzed.
