Johnston had a deadly house fire on McQueen Street killing Denise Bryant, 3, and Keith Lamar Andrews, 2. Fernald Ohio AP workers at the government owned uranium plant returned to work after a 10 week strike halted production of material critical to nuclear weapons. Electors meet nationwide to cast ballots, ahead of a joint session of Congress on January 4 when the results are opened and Bush is declared president elect. Dukakis won 112 electoral votes to Bush 428.
