Sandoz Dye Plant Nears Completion in South Carolina
The Sandoz Color and Chemical plant, ten miles northeast of Allendale, will affect Aiken County growth as workers relocate from Allied General Nuclear Services. Plans for the 42 million facility began in 1977 with 175 employees, many from Allendale, and training conducted by the South Carolina Board for Technical and Comprehensive Education. The firm aims for nonpolluting operations with no river waste discharges.
