Cameron Edwin Thomas, 36, has been charged with two counts of murder in the deaths of Charles and Andrea Deas. Police say Edgefield firefighters found the couple dead after a house fire on October 9 on Marigold Street. Thomas is held at Edge Detention Center. attorney information was not available.
Aiken County dispatches report multiple incidents across Graniteville Beech Island Aiken Wagener and North Augusta including a home break in a window crawling entry theft of a rental vehicle assault on a mother in law and disorderly conduct arrests and store trespass after a man slept in a Whiskey Road business lot and a woman disputed a restaurant refund plus two broken car windows on Morgan Street all dated midweek to Thursday and Wednesday local time.
North Augusta leaders outlined growth and economic development at the Chamber Breakfast. Col Todd Turner of Fort Gordon described post 2012 population gains and the upcoming Cyber Command Center, while Aiken County Councilman Chuck Smith spoke on business climate and expansion. Dr Andrea Washington highlighted expanded coursework and dual enrollment in Aiken County Public Schools, and Mayor Lark Jones discussed city growth, infrastructure projects, and downtown economic activity.
